Nora vs the nanobots

Nora vs the nanobots

I told Nora it was better not to play with nanobots

But once sighted, she was smitten until they consumed all of her thoughts

She said her body was flawed and she felt impure

She would not give up her quest without a cure

She checked under rocks and on factory floors

Until one day she found the door

That opened to the laboratory of the lost

Failed science experiments, single socks and dilapidated auto parts

She found them in a corner, fumbling about in the dark

She came to see me then, with the bots in a jar

She seemed manic, excited, her eyes were like stars

She grinned at me, I have found what I sought

These little critters will cure all my impure thoughts

She tipped the jar back and they poured down her throat

Her hair changed color and she sang a single note

They changed everything you could tell she was not the same

They changed her nose, her elbows, and even her name

They changed her eyes which were the last to go

I watched in horror: Oh how it scared me so

So Nora's last chapter was written nanobit by nanobyte

Until at last Nora vanished completely from my sight

I think she's happy as a snowglobe on my shelf

I put her in the sun on Thursdays, hope that helps
